Meruem or Pain/Nagato. Who would win?
Meruem, the main antagonist of Hunter x Hunter series whereas Pain, one of the antagonist Naruto shippuden series. I always wonder which one of them is more powerful. One with Rinnegan or the King of Ants, that too who inherited life- force and Nen from thousands of normal various animals, humans most importantly acknowledged Hunters.
the actual series Meruem is considered a overpowered character with vivid range of dominating skills. Furthermore, nevertheless being an ant he is a genius who can adapt and learn things at a much higher pace than that of a normal human being.

Now as about Pain from Naruro shippuden series, the guy with almighty Rinnegan, omnipotent of all the prowess-paired eyes in the whole Naruto series. No deliberation, Pain is yes a worthy opponent.
The guy who blew up the whole Konoha village after only exercising one single Jutsu. Although the Rinnegan he had was still incomplete to the prowess of what an actual developed Rinnegan possess, such that of Madara, Sasuke or Kaguya.

Meruem vs Pain
After considering the power level of both, in my opinion Meruem will win. A few critique I've to support my stance,
• The tough body of his can literally survive from any attack comprising large grounds. Attack such as which he used to destroy Konoha village. And about the counter his speed will do the absolute job.
•Summoning Jutsu considering the factor. We've seen Meruem's physical strength it could drastically harm any animal pain summon, moreover the Range blast to counter or to completely kill the beast.
•Only thing i fear most is Planetary destruction. But that I think is possible to get away from if it's Meruem, perhaps his smartness/strategic quality will do the job. Speed and Range blast maybe.
• The most prominent factor because of what I'm supporting Meruem is, he can fly because of Metamorphosis and can also detect the actual controller that is Nagato, using his Photon.
• As for destroying any Pain, he just have come near his opponent and the tail strike or one punch and easily rip-off any part of their body.
Even though I'm a naruto fanboy and really likes Nagato as a character, for this singular fight, I've place my bet on Meruem, well because strong one wins. But the fact that both the series are two very indifferent as in Naruto series the power level of characters in the final arc had increased far greater than that of Hunter x Hunter, perhaps of it being an enormous action shounen genre.
