The story revolves around a girl who recently has been suspended for her school's handball team then decides to plan a trip to her father, who apparently works in the aquarium. With continuation, there she meets Umi who is having some supernatural abilities which lets him communicate to other living creatures present in waters. Umi was raised by dugongs and if you don't know what dugongs are, they are like sea-cows.
The dominant reason for Ruko's trip was to explore the sea and to find out what her were dreams about, those sparkling unusual sea creatures which she felt while not being anywhere near waters, there is this connection between her to the sea which she always felt in the depth of her heat, for some reason..
Animation and sound
I'd give 10/10 to animation, it's very very beautiful! They've more exaggerated to the animation section and have lacked a few others to be honest.
Movement of whales, sea, the density of its is heart flattering. If you've fantasies paring with quality animation, this anime is for you. The film covers the entire spectrum from cool colors in most scenes to a monochrome palette and bright colors in others, In my opinion rather than investment the sum in animation, they should've spent in understandable story.
As for voice, it's decently executed by Studio 4c. Mana Ashida Sumiko Fuji Goro Inagaki Yū Aoi are playing the roles, in the movie. As about music, it's decent not at the level in what animation is done but it's very much fitting, I'd give;

Story
To be honest I'm kind of in blue as how to describe the actual plot. In the first go I wasn't completely able to comprehend it. But if not including the initial time, it's a bit less decent film. I was disappointed in the whole story they actually didn't solve any mystery or gave the answer of literally anything in fact raised more of them, that I didn't like.
Overall, it's not a bad movie, definitely not a waste of time, it may perhaps happen that you'll start to feel a little boredom in times but, a few charming features of its will make you not loose your pants. Though I would deceit if I say it's the best movie I've ever watched, absolutely not, not even near, but true it wasn't a waste,if you're a charm for animation and fantasy genre anime, love for sea then, totally, go for it!
