My favourite Slice of Life Anime (2017-19)

Slice of life has always been one of the genre which everyone don't usually like to hate. The purpose of this post is to suggest 6 Slice of life genre Anime which I watched and liked in last several months. Also yeah, the rank/position they are in are based on the rankings of myanimelist and some other major sites. So without eating any time, let's get into the list!

1. A Place Further than the Universe (Sora yori mo Tooi Basho)

Who else isn't much of a Peripatetic? I know I haven't been most of the time of my life but it's not like I never wanted to go out on a journey where I had never been before.. wander to different places with people I know not too much about. This show is quite very similar to how it's like with majority of people when it comes to going on different places.

A 2nd year highschool girl who is scared to go places nevertheless have a desire to go on a journey which doesn't lead her to the School. Mari Tamaki has a dream to things which normal people of her age don't think of doing. However, because of how much she is scared of what crappiest thing may happen in the venture, she is never able to put her decision into work, until the day when she found a girl who just dropped 100 million yen. Shirase Kobuchizawa, a girl who lost all contacts from her mother when she was on a venture to explore Antarctica, a place further than universe, a place where her mother is. And for that reason she has been saving money for don't know how many years. Mari after hearing her story became so much motivated that she accepted her invitation to Antarctica and that changed her whole life forever. Along with Hinata Miyake and Yuzuki Shiraishi, the four girls are now set out on their journey to Antarctica. A Place Further than the Universe has all the things which a person could ask from a Slice of Life Anime. A great combination of Comedy with the moments of emotions and the rejoicing little victories with makes us cheer for them always.

2. 3-gatsu no Lion (March comes in like a lion)

Life of a High-schooler Rei Kiriyama, a genius shogi player who already have a professional status at the age of 17 only, however, he suffers from depression and enormous pressure because of his antisocial nature. While existing in the miserable life of his, he decides to move to Tokyo and that is when his life took a turn with many colours and emotions filling the life of his which he had never experienced before, thanks to the family of 3 sisters living just a very normal life with their own problems to face.

3. Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon (Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid)

One normal morning Kobayashi open her door to balcony and found a giant dragon looking at her eyes, expectedly, shocked, before she could swallow the situation, that dragon transforms into a cute blond girl having a dragon tail moving around. Even though how much it may sound like a theme of an action anime but it is not. The Dragon, Tohru is actually a very charming dragon and only wants to stay there in Kobayashi's apartment along with her because she doesn't have anywhere to go, in return Kobayashi asks her to do all kinds of chores like cooking and laundry. Which is really very enjoyable to watch because she mess all things up at the Beginning, nevertheless hired by Kobayashi. Later on there are more guests waiting to join their company.

I liked this anime because of the cute characters, even so they are either a dragon or a dinosaur, the normalised charming plot, comedy which made me laugh even the moment seemed quite normal and characters which are so relaxing to watch when you had all kinds of stuff going in your actual life.

4. Skilled teaser Takagi

Teasing a friend has always been some of the best thing to do in the days of school. Takagi, a 12 years old is often considered as a skilled teaser when it comes to Nishikata, her fellow classmate and a friend. Even though this anime doesn't have any storyline which usually a slice of life anime have yet it's really fun to watch instances of daily school life, an innocent male protagonist desperately trying to do a number on the one who's been teasing him, just for fun. What makes this show more fun is that they have a crush on each other.

It the beginning I wasn't very excited to watch this Anime but after getting into it I started liking the relationship between Takagi and Nishikata, the unique childish humour of the show adds more charm to it. And for no specific reason you'd like root for your own favourite character.

5. New Game!!

Everyone's dream is to work where they love to work. At the age of 12, I remember, making my own game has always been a few things I wanted to do in my life, however it's just a fantasy for me now. Aoba Suzukaze, from a very young age, she had a love for fantasy game series, particularly the character designing which she continued to desire after her high School as well and started work in her dream Job, Eagle Jump, an all girls company the same place where her favourite game was made. Just thinking of working where you have people who you admire is very motivating, the challenges they face, how they do their stuff and most above all how they teach you to become a pro, that something which made me look forward to this Anime. It's a cute, comedy with a slice of life Anime having various charming characters having their own skills, not everyone can find their liking on a single one for example my favourite is Takimoto, despite the fact that she doesn't have a lead role.

To be honest, nowadays I'm not too fond of games however, after learning its synopsis which I was kind of relating with "Comic Girls", motivated me to watch this show, I can't say it's very very relating however yes, the time I spent watching "New Game!!" wasn't in vain and I really enjoyed the girls working all together, it made me wanna cheer for them.

6. Comic Girls

Kaoruko Moeta, a shy timid girl with the passion to be a professional manga artist someday however, after getting the results of sequel she had the worst impression because of which her editor suggested to move in a dorm, living along with other manga artists to gain some experiences and that's when her life took a turn.

I really enjoyed the show, having a peek in the life of manga artists, what struggles do they face in their daily lives was really something to look into for me and what most admiring thing for me was how adorably they painted them.
